Request For Money On Invitation

invited criticism: MOON (Duncan Jones)

This is the first time that I get to sit down and write a few lines about a movie. And all for the kind invitation of my colleague and even friend, Ricardo. So, let's do this, to see if I can comment a movie without using all those occurring with verbs impossible turns and all those who love proparoxytones the "experts" film and other fauna.

I have a weakness for movies that add two factors that are see debut and distils touch " indie" as the modern, but they get to roll gafapasta. Why. Because products are always very sincere and passionate part of who she is delivered, where they often take the rest. This is not always a guarantee that I like the result, but when the combination of me sympathizes usually accompanied by an interesting final product. This is the case Moon, in my opinion. Furthermore, as this is my first comment because what better than a debut.

I do not like a movie telling comment on what happens in it, I think that somehow will determine the potential audience, but after all the inevitable demand always synopsis. So this is the most aseptic:

"Set in the not too distant future. He introduces us to an astronaut who is isolated on the moon during a period of 3 years in a mining excavation. His contract is about to end, but something goes wrong. "

For that to classify the film for those who need direct information, we will include it in the broad genre of movies sci-fi space, although Moon is distinguished from the more conventional stories full of effects and bichicos to which we have used other blockbuster productions. Conventional stories by the way, many of them love me.

Moon is in other ways, looking for more originality of the story in a context of reality possible, but yes to a script very, very tricky that after seeing the movie you create a multitude of questions when one uses common sense. Prefer not to comment on these questions that I raised, and it bothers me that I gutted the movie with this kind of comments resabidillos.

The fact is that there grace is not it, something you can not believe when logic starts, enjoy and get it caught. Much blame for this lies with the staging. Simple but really effective. Do not miss any of the art special effects. The great success in using physical models and scenery evokes the familiar scent of other past productions like Alien, and of course, 2001: A Space Odyssey , relatively speaking of course. As robots do not compare the two, firstly the famous HAL 9000 and other Gerty, both full of artificial life simply because of good programming, or perhaps something that transcends the merely mechanical, " humanity?

The development of the action is slow, a slow pace the viewer needed to be soaking up the surroundings, that feeling uneasy, claustrophobic, of the enormous distress suffered by the character . At first he misses a little more tension, or if you prefer, a little suspense as one has the feeling that is revealed too soon the mainstay argument. But my impression is that this is what you want the director / screenwriter , put in a situation to the viewer and it removed as before any waiting on the typical twist and focus on empathy with the character, in this existential precipice and supports the thrill of what humans can create when you lose or forget their own humanity.

music, hypnotic and minimalist , by Clint Mansell , is also a critical element that helps create this strange atmosphere contributing to achieve the subtle cadence that need action. Just this leisurely pace and the special atmosphere that conveys confusing, again made compulsory this mention 2001: A Space Odyssey , only to feel Moon is a worthy heir to that kind of aesthetic in which the protagonist lives in metaphysical approaches.

The director / screenwriter is Duncan Jones, son of no more and no less than David Bowie . Is appreciated as a league of famous name and win the beans without resorting to easy. Well, that leaves me waiting Duncan and eager to see his new work Source Code.

The division is focused on a single star of the flesh ( Sam Bell ), played by Sam Rockwell . His work is wonderful. In he underpins all film. The same for Duncan Jones for having chosen , because, given the personality of the film , I think Sam Bell is one of those characters that an actor has to interpret not well known, or at less is not considered a star to use.

If you like the vo enjoy voice of Kevin Spacey giving "life" Gerty robot.

Some / as a movie will seem very tricky and tedious. Others / as an enjoyable and entertaining original proposal that after all is what it is, that what others are already news programs.

For me, movie pretty, very pretty indeed . Movie meant to be, though I was resisting using the term, "cult" and point of reference in the future, and if not, while .
